Michelle And Leaf ~ Los Angeles Family Photography

These photos were taken over several years, starting with Michelle’s pregnancy.  This beautiful mother and son just booked a photo shoot during my upcoming trip to Los Angeles this spring.  I have not photographed them since I moved to France and I’m  feeling a little nostalgic.  So, I decided to do a little tribute to the two of them.  All of these photographs were shot with black & white film, custom printed and then the prints were sepia toned.  These are scans of the prints.  The first photo of Michelle is a scan of a gelatin silver photograph that I hand painted.

This next photo is a scan of a hand painted gelatin silver photograph.

Le Poulbot

A second Paris photo of the day for a more romantique view of Paris.  I shot this photo with black and white film and printed it on gelatin silver paper.  I then added color by painting the photograph with pastel photo oil paints.

Carly and Brian ~ Los Angeles Engagement Photography

Carly and Brian’s proposal story is so romantic.  The proposal took place in Southern California during an 8 1/2 mile round trip hike to Simi Peak and the lovely cluster of oak trees at China Flat.  While they were enjoying the magnifique view from the top of Simi Peak, Brian proposed to Carly with his mother’s original ring.  How special is that?!

I’m really looking forward to shooting this adorable couple’s wedding next May, but first I want to share a couple photos from their engagement session that I shot when I was in Los Angeles.

Carly wanted the couple’s wedding colors, purple and green, in the engagement pictures so we decided to do their photo shoot at the beautiful Descanso Gardens, a perfect location.  Brian, a lover of film photography, wanted classic black and white photographs.

I used color and b&w film for this shoot.  These are scans of the prints.  The black & white photographs are a gelatin silver prints.

Félicitations, Carly and Brian!  See you in May!
