French Lesson of the Day ~ Location Does Not Mean Location

Sometimes when I’m not exactly sure of a French word I just say the English word with a French accent.  Usually I get my point across… or so I thought.  Fact #1 : “location” is a French and an English word.  Fact #2 : location means rental in French.  So, for the past 3 years when I discussed possible locations for photo shoots in Paris, the Frenchies thought I was asking where to rent a location for a shoot.  Lovely (insert humorous tone)!  Did people seriously think I wanted to rent the Eiffel Tower for a Couples Session??? Oh la la!

Lovelocks on the Pont des Arts

My favorite bridge in Paris is definitely the Pont des Arts, a beautiful wooden pedestrian bridge.  Every time I walk on the Pont des Arts I have to stop and take a few moments to enjoy the view, even if I’m in a hurry.  The bridge connects Le Louvre to L’Insitut de France, so there’s  breathtaking architecture on both banks.   Then there’s the Seine where you have a picturesque view of the Ile de la Cité, Notre Dame and the Pont Neuf on one side and the Eiffel Tower on the other.  It’s the perfect bridge for a quiet and utterly romantic stroll with the one you love as well as a stunning location for an Engagement, Proposal, Day After or Honeymoon Photo Session.  The Lovelock trend makes the Pont des Arts even more enchanting.  Couples from around the world are attaching padlocks engraved with their names to the pont as a representation their love.  J’adore!

This photograph of the Pont des Arts with L’Institut de France in the background is from a Love Shoot I did on a snowy day last winter.  You can see more from this photo shoot here.

So, if you and your amour are ever in Paris be sure to take a promenade romantique on the Pont des Arts.  And don’t forget your Lovelock!

Naomie’s Hello Kitty Birthday Session ~ Paris Family Photography

I had such a blast while photographing Naomie with her new Hello Kitty bike.  Hello Kitty was definitely the theme of the day with all of her adorable HK clothing and accessories.  Her Strawberry Shortcake shoes are pretty cute too.

It was also very refreshing to spend some time with someone who’s French language level is about the same as mine.  😉  You can see more from Naomie’s portrait session on facebook .
